Launched in 2008 as a special fundraiser event to help kick off the summer season, "A Night at the Improv" takes a select group of performers and throws them into any actor's worst nightmare: stepping onto a stage without knowing anything that they're going to act out for the next 90 minutes. Actors perform games such as "Dating Show" where they take on and guess ridiculous personalities, "People Props" where the performers have to stand in for any missing props in a scene, and "Only Questions" where the only dialog that the performers can speak are questions.
Audience participation is solicitated throughout the night, through games like "Live Sounds" where two audience members create the sound track for our performers and many times audience members find themselves participating directly in the show!
Desserts and beverages are offered at some performances for a free-will donation during an intermission with the performers.
Arc Light's Improv group is always looking for additional performances around the Central Illinois area. Please contact us to schedule a performance at your next event.
